Red Hot Chili Peppers’ critically acclaimed 2006 double album and their last so far with John will be re-issued on 180 gram vinyl for the 2012 record store day, to honour the band’s Rock and Roll Hall of fame entry. If you did not get it before and you aren’t willing to pay more than its face value through second-hand marketplaces, this could be your chance.

The Wu-Tang Clan mastermind, who’s the friend of maestro and who already had him as a guest artist on both the collective’s and the solo album, as well as a N.A.S.A. and Catherine Ringer songs, plus one movie soundtrack; hints John is recording something out of this world…and he quotes lyrics from “Enough Of Me”, too!

Rolling Stone have released their list of 100 greatest guitarists. Unlike the one done in 2003, where only David Fricke got to choose his favourite axemen, this poll featured a whole assembly of musicians and other people from the business picking their favourites. John came in 72nd.

The documentary produced by Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack and directed by Mike Fleiss and Mike Piscitelli (who directed John’s The Past Recedes music video, took promotional photos from 2004 and is in the charge of the label) is out on DVD now, after a couple of screenings at various festivals.
