Site updates

Site updates, 26th May 2008

This update has been delayed again; as this weird machine apparently has a mind of its own and is often acting like a wild beast without my prior agreement. It burned a bunch of USB devices, too. But with this update, I hope your RSS feed will be burnin’ as well.

Also, thanks to the person who reported that the info page wasn’t working. It was accidentally whipped out, now it’s back; as well as all of its subpages.

And, this is important: deadline for the competition has been extended and now you can submit your work of art until 15th June 2008.

  1. Niandra LaDes press kit images and transcript
  2. Some more images under RHCP album booklets > various
  3. Two new sets of screencaps/stills
  4. Some new digital and traditional art
  5. One audio file
  6. Two magazine articles
  7. Two album reviews

Something unusual…
Thanks to wonderful Stefanie who took her time to take photos of each page, you can look at a Niandra LaDes And Usually Just A T-Shirt press kit in the gallery and read something you don’t get to rid every day. It’s going to amaze you and creep you out at the same time, as it was 1994 and John’s state of mind was fairly specific.

If this appears unreadable to you or you’d rather read it as a couple of paragraphs of text, click here.

Vinyl covers madness
Four new items, three of them covers of RHCP’s 1989 vinyl singles and one of them an inlay of a 1991 single, have been added to the appropriate gallery section. Scanning each of them in its entiety was not possible due to the dimensions, but I can assure you that the cut-off parts are not that much of interest on this website.

Screencaps/stills
Live at Abbey Road, 20th November 2006
Jools Holland, 22nd November 2006.

As usual, many thanks to Flávia for these gems.

Art update
Four new digital pieces, done by Dóra Szabolcsi can be found here.
One new traditional piece by Dóra Szabolcsi and one by Conor Todd are also online, here.

Misc. audio
And now something completely different. I know many people heard this, but I know even more people didn’t, so here it is…on this page, you’ll find one new file: a mp3 of John performing L’Via L’Viaquez with The Mars Volta on 14th October 2005 in Santa Barbara.

Magazine articles
Given that it was impossible to stick the whole pages into the scanner, Gizem was so kind to type out the article from that 1991 issue of BAM that she scanned earlier this month. You can now read the actual article here.

Also, Max was so kind to type out the article from July 2004 issue of Mojo and you can read it here.

Two album reviews
I translated two reviews from an Italian website, and they’re of TROWFTD and SCWP. I think they’re quite unusually-written, so I hope you will like them as much as I did.
