John’s follow-up blog post on The Almighty instrumental mixes
One day after they were quietly posted to his Soundcloud and later Bandcamp page, John has written a blog post about The Almighty instrumental mixes.
I’m very proud of this music, and think it works very well as an instrumental album, though it wasn’t intended to be one. There’s a lot going on in these tracks that gets virtually lost on the original vocal versions.
Further on, he talks about his live room, created by contractor Jacques Lacroix, acoustician Vincent Van Hoff, and his studio manager Anthony Zamora. He explains how he used it to get specific sounds on the album. He also says that a cheaper alternative to this is using the bathroom to get a similar effect.
The highly studious and very enjoyable read is available here. ^_^
