You can have a look at the scans of these tabs and the introduction page by clicking on the thumbnail below. 82205

  • John at George Clinton’s birthday party

(from Rolling Stone) Last night George Clinton proved you don’t have to be young to have fun in Hollywood. The Parliament-Funkadelic legend celebrated 67 colorful years on Planet Funk at Zune in L.A. with a bevy of babes in the house and celebrity well-wishers, including Sly Stone, Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ John Frusciante, Lili Hayden and others. Frusciante, who with his fellow Peppers and rapper RZA played on “Let the Good Times Roll” on Clinton’s new album, told Rolling Stone that he was honored to play with the legendary musician. “George is the real God of Rock,” he declares.

  • Digi Snacks is out, John is on a different song

RZA’s long-expected Digi Snacks, which he’s releasing under the alias Bobby Digital is out in USA and soon to be out in Europe as well. The album is receiving mixed reviews, as it seems not to be fitting to everyone’s tastes; but isn’t that usually what happens with rap? According to the information listed on a bunch of websites, including the very reliable Wu-Tang clan official BBS; John is not on You Can’t Stop Me Now as it had been announced many a time previously. He was supposed to be on it back in the 8 Diagrams days, but Dhani Harrison appears to have been credited for the electric guitar…

  • Knock Me Down is on Guitar Hero: On Tour

A master recording of RHCP’s 1989 hit song Knock Me Down can be found on the “Battleship” tier of the new Guitar Hero game, Guitar Hero On Tour. That’s a good reason to get the game if you’re a gaming nut, so go get it. Thanks to Dylan for this news.

  • A fresh interview done by Elektron.se

The staff of Elektron Music Machines have done an interview with John and it was definitely done this or last month, which makes it his first interview after a long, long break. The Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the most popular bands around. John Frusciante is not only a Pepper guitarist extraordinaire, but also an avid user of electronic instruments. His esoteric take on technology can be heard in his numerous solo recording, where guitars and machines are fused into a compelling whole. I heard you were on vacation recently – where did you go? I went to a three-day rave by the beach in England. Some of…

  • Do you have any questions for Joe Lally?

Drumroll, please! ^_^ One of Invisible-Movement’s sister sites, JoshKlinghoffer.net aka JKDN is doing an interview with Joe Lally, one third of Ataxia, a member of Fugazi and a solo artist in his own right. Joe has said he is happy to talk about his work with John and Josh, and the Ataxia recordings. So, would you like to ask Joe something? Please, email me the question or leave a comment to this entry. I’ll direct all the questions to the person doing this interview. You have twenty-four hours to do this, as the interview will take place very, very soon. After it has taken place, an audio stream will be…

  • Keith Murray would go for John as his dream-festival opener.

Having been asked by ITN.co.uk about what their dream festival would look like, members of the New York-based band We Are Scientists gave very interesting responses and that just adds them to the list to musicians who are fans of John’s work. Bassist Chris Cain joked: “My first question would be, ‘do the bands all have to still be alive?’, because if so, I can’t work within those constraints. I won’t do that.” Singer Keith Murray added: “If we had no limitations financially or whether or not the artist is dead, John Frusciante is on first, he gets an hour set. Red Hot Chilli Peppers close it out.”

  • Happy 38th birthday to John!

As the most of people visiting this (a) corner of the cyberspace, today is John’s birthday and he’s thirty-eight years old. If you want to wish John a happy birthday, there’s a thread on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ official message board. Click here!. They also have a news item for it. You can also join the little party we’re having on the Invisible Movement boards, click here. ♥ Love above everything! ♥

  • Chad Smith - Eastern Rim

    Eastern Rim out soon

The story about Chad’s DVD, Eastern Rim, was definitely not a rumour. The piece, which is very relevant to John appreciators as it contains footage of the amazing jam held on on 11th April last year in Melbourne will be available on DVD from 10th March on. Performances: In addition to rare, behind-the-scenes views of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, this DVD captures an explosive 30-minute improv live from Federation Square in Melbourne. Chad and his band mates surprise the crowd by turning a scheduled drum clinic into a full-fledged jam! To read more and order the DVD, click here. *Thanks to Jason for heads up!

  • Bits and bites, part two

Another band that (almost) swears by John Members of Here Is There, a band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA stated in an interview that John is their biggest idol and influence. Here Is There’s influences include David Bowie, The Strokes, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and especially John Frusciante. “He is God,” Chris said. “I want some kid to listen to us like the way that I listen to John Frusciante.” RHCP’s Navarro episode on the list of worst career reinventions ever The popular website publishing various, semi-humorous and more often sarcastic lists of this and that, considers RHCP’s excursion in the dark and experimental waters with Dave Navarro to be one…
