For the less tech-savvy people: that means there will be a downloadable audio file. If you want to reveal what you asked, be my guest. I do hope that everyone’s playing nice. Many thanks to Alyssia and Leni for having passed me the info so quickly! And…

  • Another outtake from the Hillingdon Mind interview

Once again thanks to Chris Phillips, here is another exclusive outtake of the Hillingdon Mind interview with John, two part of which are already available ar hillingdonmind.org.uk. This outtake continues on the second part of the interview, but is omitted from the final version and kindly given to this website by its author. In music this idea is being express, and by the end of the song there’s every element of the music that has been doing something, is constantly at a different number than other things, and to top it off depending on where a musician puts something- in relationship to where the other musician puts something- these things…

  • Another beautiful thought for the day…

…for all of you who don’t check John’s blog that often or are too lazy to do so: he’s just posted a new entry[1], revealing details on The Empyrean being a story with no action in the physical world. [1] I most sincerely apologise if this news item pings that blog entry. It’s actually considered to be polite because that way one person lets the other person know that their writing was linked, as described here. Thanks.

[1] – There’s a discussion going on regarding this image on the Invisible Movement BBS, you can follow it in its own thread. [1] I apologise for having written posting and not post at some point on Friday and put it amongst quotation marks. That was not meant to be rude or cynical.

  • Sonus Quartet and Double G’s impressions on working with John.

This is what Sonus Quartet wrote in their blog, right after their recording sessions for The Empyrean in October 2007. (thanks to Anitka who dug it out of the www!) We just had an inspiring and fulfilling session for Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, putting some string love on his upcoming solo album. He is once again collaborating with longtime musical partner Josh Klinghoffer, who originally introduced us to John at the beginning of the year while we were opening for the Chili Peppers with Gnarls Barkley and it’s a project we’ve been looking forward to ever since. Neel and Vanessa both wrote quartet arrangements for it, as well as…
