Site updates – 21st April 2009
It’s been a couple of weeks since the last regular update. I’m sorry to you all, I was really busy with work and one of my closest family members suffered a strong heart stroke and…in a situation like this, it’s a miracle that the site was actually updated during the last three weeks. To everyone whom I still owe a response: patience, you’ll get it.
On this particular occasion, I’m really glad to announce that the board has passed another milestone and that there are more than 3000 registered users now. And the Twitter account has more than 100 followers now. It’s nice to see that there are so many web 2.0-aware people around. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The next “regular” update will, most likely, occur in two weeks.
- All “cosmetic” errors in the gallery have been fixed
- A nice set of magazine scans from 2004
- 12 sets of concert photos from 2004, 2005 and 2006
- Two more misc. scans
- Works page is in beta
- Pages on feature films John was in…
- …and pages about two of the documentaries he was in
- A page about Speed Dealer Moms, with all info in one place
- Two magazine articles
- One new transcript, with a video
- A page for all PDFs, to keep them in a single place
- One new song cover by a site reader
- One new digital art piece
- Three new wallpapers
All errors in the gallery have been fixed
OK, so, you have probably noticed that, after months of looking a bit WTF, the gallery looks sane now. A shout-out to Serhiy for having helped me find a ghost settings file that was almost impossible to find.
Magazine scans
Pnk – Los Angeles Underground, August 2004 – An amazing set of photographs that I’m sure many of the site’s visitors will enjoy. Many thanks to Violet for the magazine and to Anitka for the scans.

On this note, enormous thanks to Violet and Michael for having filled in the blanks for some shows there have not been any photos of…especially, the 1st Hullabaloo. And many thanks to A_doubt and Nicki for even more photos from German shows. There can never be too many of them! ^_^
“Works” page
Introducing, the Works page. This page was created with the goal of organising things on this website in a more logical way. Its subpages will hold information on all associated acts, film and documentary appearances and so on. Also, painting and drawings will move there, once there’s more content. The page will soon be accessible from the main menu, too.
Pages on feature films
Desert In Shape
Stuff
TROWFTD film
This section, to my knowledge, has been completed. On this note, many thanks to amourfou for initial information on the first film and to Toni Oswald for responding to additional questions and allowing a couple of stills from the film to be used on its page.
Pages on documentaries
Bob And The Monster – not much content so far, but watch this space
The Heart Is A Drum Machine – Make sure you click here, there are mp3s of John’s statements from the movie that were not uploaded before. Many thanks to Anonymous for these.
A page on Speed Dealer Moms
It was about time Speed Dealer Moms got an info page as well. Given how many people come here searcing for more information and their unfamiliarness with the tags system and site search, this way they’ll be able to find everything on a single page. There are some facts that have not been published before (many thanks to a certain XYZ. for having shared it with me back in August/September) and I’m sure you guys will find it interesting. If you’re going to the Bangface Weekender, may this be your warm-up session for all that acid. The genre, not the drug.
Magazine articles
Charts, March 2000
Pnk – Los Angeles Underground, August 2004
Interview transcripts
26th March 2001 30 Tons interview was transcribed by Gizem and if you scroll down the page, there’s a streaming video of it as well…for all of you who can’t find a way around the page in Polish language and all of you who can’t use Real Player for whatever reason.
A page for PDF downloads
Since there have been many PDFs to download recently, they now have a page of their own; which makes them easier to find. So far, on that page you’ll find some lyrics’ translations, the Warpaint brochure, that T-shirt design a site visitor has done and, of course, A Book Of Suns. There’s also a reminder of Until You See Me Again with information on how to obtain it, in case you have not done so yet.
Readers’ cover songs
There’s a cover of Untitled #2 done by Fabreeze and you can find it in the usual place.
Readers’ digital art
A Roy Lichstenstein-style popart piece by Brittany
Readers’ wallpapers
Wallpaper by Daniel Lopez, 1100×850 – odd resolution, I know.
Wallpaper by Matt Thwattes, 1280×1024
Wallpaper by Noah Sneider, 1024×768
