  • A report of the NASCAR NEXTEL All Star…

From Auto Racing Daily: Before their electrifying performance during Saturday nights NEXTEL All Star event, the famed Red Hot Chili Peppers made a trip to the Roush Racing NEXTEL Cup shops in Concord, N.C. The four band members, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith, took a quick tour through the Roush shops with hosts Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards then it was outside to perform their first ever pit stop with the assistance of the No. 16 Ameriquest Busch team. “Those guys were pretty cool,” said Biffle, driver of the No. 16 National Guard Ford Fusion. “They seemed really interested in learning about the cars; we talked for…

  • Chart positions of Stadium Arcadium

I don’t have the time to search many lists. But, from what I know, the album is the first on the US, UK and German charts, as well as here where I live (this country is a subject to discuss since last night, so I don’t know where I live:roll:)…if you know any other country where it’s first (and I bet there’s many), yell at me and I shall edit this. Here’s what mtv.com said: Shame on those who’d written off rock as a dead genre. Rock, it seems, was just taking a little nap. But thanks to Godsmack, Tool, Pearl Jam and Taking Back Sunday, who’ve dominated the Billboard…

  • Footage from the KRQQ Weenie Roast

The KRQQ website has some here. You can download the same thing at i-m.net’s forums and I promise to extract a clip of John’s solo at the end, since the one from the TV Total show was very well-received.

  • An invite-only show, radio show and a real show…

RHCP had an invite-only show in LA, at the Troubadour (John played a solo show there in 2001, remember?) last night and people who got in are mostly band’s friends. If I have more info on it in future, you’ll surely hear about it… However, the show on Saturday, held by KROQ-FM (106.7) wasn’t invite only. It was the anual Weenie Roast y Fiesta concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, and here are some nice excerpts from the review seen on Calendar live: The Chili Peppers’ closing set reaffirmed the L.A. quartet’s status among rock’s elite. Songs from the new “Stadium Arcadium” double-CD package added maturity and musical…

  • Review of the Irving Plaza show

(lifted from NY Post…) May 10, 2006 — AT the Red Hot Chili Peppers super-exclusive, no-VIP gig Monday at Irving Plaza, the California funk punk icons played a roller-coaster show that mixed loads of killer songs with just enough filler to let you know they ain’t perfect. The two-hour showcase served as a fan appreciation performance as well as a release party for the band’s double-disc “Stadium Arcadium,” which dropped yesterday. As they have with recent shows, the band opened and closed the concert with powerful instrumental jams that featured shirtless bassist Flea, along with drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante. Those opening riffs limbered the boys up for…

Also, many thanks to Claudia for alerting me about when this is on German MTV, as rhcp.com didn’t even mention it… The times for MTV Adria aren’t listed either since it was unfortunately on TV already.
