RHCP nominated in 7 categories at the MTV VMA 2006
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been nominated in seven categories for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which will be held on 31st August at the Radio City Music Hall In New York City, USA; at 8 PM/20:00 h local time (GMT -6). The nominations were announced yesterday at the Top Of The Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center. Billboard review of Tell Me Baby
As the unstoppable “Dani California” continues its run on rock radio, the Peppers unleash a sun-drenched, bass-heavy cut from “Stadium Arcadium.” Bringing back the funk, “Tell Me Baby” is driven by Flea’s bass-slapping salvos and gushes a catchy pop chorus over a crisp feel-good shuffle. It’s a classic funk-rocker, featuring one of Anthony Kiedis’ madcap raps (“Chitty, chitty baby/When your nose is in the nitty gritty/What a pity”). This was not announced on the official site, as there will be no presale…however, an additional RHCP tour date has been added, so they will play two shows in Vienna. John’s little blooper at T In The Park this weekend…
I am away from home, so the media updates will be slightly late (I am coming back on 20th July in the evening), but here are some news clippings about RHCP’s performance at T In The Park on Saturday. Courier says: Saturday headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers declared it their best-ever festival experience praised the fans. “I really want to thank you people for staying here to watch us play in that rain.
