Man Meat out on 06th July, Dr. Teeth single out now on iTunes
Here’s a little round-up of all the recent news regarding Swahili Blonde. The release of the Elixor Fixor vinyl 7″ single has been postponed and, instead of next Tuesday, 06th April, it will be out on Tuesday, the 27th of April. Once again, you can obtain it here (they don’t send outside of USA) or you can win one on this website if you’re feeling creative. Last week, another of the songs off the album, was published in a digital single format – Dr. Teeth. You can preview it in the player below or get it from either Amazon or iTunes. It’s by far, the most interesting piece off the…

Swahili Blonde’s Man Meat – tracklisting, credits, album art
Swahili Blonde have just revealed the album art and credits for their upcoming album, Man Meat, which will be published sometime this year. As expected, John is playing guitar on all tracks, but he is not involved in producing duties, as it was actually said last year, when Nicole Turley was interviewed for the Tom Tom magazine. However, John is credited for writing of Tigress Ritual, alongside Duran Duran’s John Taylor, while Turley was in charge of mixing and producing all the songs. The album’s mastering was done by another big name – Aaron Funk aka Venetian Snares aka the second half of Speed Dealer Moms. There are two more…

Swahili Blonde press reactions & an alternative order link
Here’s a little digest on Swahili Blonde-related stuff, for everyone who’s interested. I thought this would be more practical than posting these news items each time they appear, especially given how many of you are subscribed to updates (that’s a whole small town out there, ouch!). To all of you who have noticed that Saki.com is delivering the Elixor Fixor 7″ only to USA residents and that their website’s ordering system probably hasn’t been updated in eight or more years as some country names are returned as invalid, check out the listing on Boomkat.com. You cannot obtain the physical vinyl single there, but you can get both tracks in .flac…

Swahili Blonde – new song, new musicians in the band, preorder info
At this point, I believe it is safe to say that Swahili Blonde is a band – I do hope that this does not offend anyone, as it was not meant to offend. And yes, this is another round up of news on the project (to the despair of those who are angry that Invisible Movement is covering a project that John is actually a part of instead of covering the one he is not in anymore). This is coming from someone who was not civilised in the past and has learnt a lot from that: please, be civilised and respect other people’s tastes and choices, as previously explained here.…

The David Bowie tribute album is available for pre-order
Manimal have just announced that their David Bowie tribute album, Repetition, is now available for pre-order. The album features versions of Bowie’s songs done by the label’s own artists as well as some prominent musicians, such as Duran Duran and Carla Bruni. All the earnings from internet orders will be donated to War Child, though this is – just to clarify – not a project done in cooperation with the aforementioned charity. The double CD album can be ordered only by PayPal for now and the link to do so is on the label’s catalog page. The cover “art” is supplied with this post and you can enlarge it to…

Swahili Blonde – new artwork, musician, song versions and single re-release
For everyone who’s been following one of a couple of known projects John’s been taking part in since his departure from the Red Hot Chili Peppers; here’s some news on Swahili Blonde. While the release date for the physical version of the Elixor Fixor single, which will contain a remix, is not yet known, there’s (yet again) new artwork for it, featuring a cute animal from the cat family. Even though the project was labeled an one-person-show or DIY come six months ago, at this point, there are five people participating. After John, violinist Laena Myers-Ionnita and drummer Stella Mogzawa, the fifth person to join Nicole Turley’s afro-beat/tango effort is…

Manimal Vinyl announce their Bowie tribute – JF’s in it, too. And it’s for children!
Legendary British rockers Duran Duran have gone ahead and told the world they’re a part of the Manimal Vinyl tribute to David Bowie. And it’s not only them, there’s a line-up of mostly Manimal’s own artists, as well as some surprises. The album is expected to be out in May 2010, and tracks “will start leaking around 15th February” (nice dose of humour). Amongst the other songs on this album, as Invisible Movement found out earlier, thanks to how nice they are over there at Manimal, there will be Swahili Blonde’s cover of Red Money, where John can be heard both as one of the guitars and the backing vocal…

New Swahili Blonde song on Myspace, “LeMampatee”
For everyone who’s interested, there’s a new Swahili Blonde song posted on Myspace and it is called LeMampatee (whatever that may mean). It appears to be mostly sung in an imaginary language similar to French and it’s quite catchy. Enjoy! Until that stuff is available to obtain legally, there’s always Elixor Fixor, which is on iTunes and features some mighty JF guitar awesomeness. Swahili Blonde’s “Elixor Fixor” is out on iTunes
Swahili Blonde’s first single, Elixor Fixor is out on iTunes as of yesterday – it was released a day earlier. You can click here to acquire it if there’s an iTunes store available for your country. Otherwise, give it a spin on the Myspace page. John’s guitar sounds mighty on this, so if you’re down due to all this craze, maybe that will cheer you up. The “newer” artwork was not used here, so it would be logical to assume it was intended for the 7″.
