• John on Johnny Ramone in the November issue of MOJO

Yet again, John has a tiny mention in a magazine feature about the Ramones. This is from the November 2005 issue of Mojo, page 80. Many thanks to catwoman from the Ramparts forum for this bit… Being friends with Johnny [Ramone] for 7 years is a privilage that’ll never be topped. What he did for music will ring forever. His guitar playing was the same as Erik Satie’s early piano works, in that he broke everything down to it’s simplist form, to true shapes of chords and constant down strokes. With that formular he was albe to express colours, shapes and sounds meaningfully as any of the great guitar players.…

  • Tiny bits of magazine articles related to John

Yes, yes, I know, it’s been unusually long since the last update. Life suddenly became interesting with one of my best friends and BBS moderator getting married, me having way too many exams and getting closer to actually be employed for the first time in my life. So, yes, thanks for your understanding and please, accept my apology. I am going to make some nice updates ASAP. For the start, here are some related bits from magazines: Here is a very interesting article about Musicians Insitute in Los Angeles and qualities of that insitution. John is mentioned as one of the famous, respected musicians who graduated from that school. It’s…

  • Two more galleries once again

There are two new sets of pics from recent concert, thanks to William Mink and, once again, Freddy Otero. Go to the gallery to have a look. A couple of bigger updates later.

  • Brilliant version of UTB on the MTV benefit…

For all of you who didn’t manage to watch the band’s performance on the benefit yesterday, it’s available here. The stream is free and, if you want to download it, you will have to pay and, of course, all the money goes to the victims of the hurricane Katrina. If you’re interested to know what you will see before you see it, RHCP performed “Under The Bridge” and the performance was stunning. John was backing up Anthony already during the second verse and the harmonies at the end of the song were better than ever. So, go and listen it – you won’t regret it:)

  • John and RZA?

According to what is said here, John has been working on something with Wu Tang Clan’s RZA…here’s the relevant bit of the article (which would be nice to read and comment on on the site itself, because Mr. RZA became a father!) Another special appearance on Cuban Linx [Part II] comes from Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ guitarist John Frusciante who has been camping in RZA’s studio for a few days. RZA and John reportedly recorded five beats together but where they will end up remains uncertain. Daron Malakian, guitarist of System Of A Down has also been in RZA’s studio for a few days recording up to 10 songs with…

  • Photoinvasion!

Just a short update because I’m pretty busy with university these days and that’s definitely more important than anything else, you’ll agree, I’m sure… The gallery has been updated with many, many new concert photos, from Vegas in July to LA 5 days ago. That, of course, includes some great work by some of the usual suspects:) So, I would like to thank Marian, Coleen, Roberta, Freddy and Petar for unselfishly sharing the glimpse of the wonderful RHCP concerts and John’s emotion in motion. Enjoy!

  • John’s testimonial in a booklet of Yes’ boxset

Yes have released The Word Is Live, a three-CD concert set spanning 1978 to 1988. Only two of the 26 songs, 1970 versions of “Them” and “Everyone,” have been previously released from the late John Peel’s BBC program, with the rest coming from assorted concerts in the US and Europe. The booklet accompanying The Word Is Live features an introduction by Greg Lake from Emerson, Lake And Palmer, as well as testimonials from Rush’s Geddy Lee, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, and others. • The first reviews of the two RHCP shows last weekend

According to the fans’ stories on the message boards, both of the concerts were nice, while the second one in Atlantic City was outstanding. The setlists I’ve seen are not 100% complete and in order, but, once I find a full one, I will post it here. Same goes for pics, videos and anything people might offer. If you have something, please email me. Until then, here’s a review of the second concert from Rolling Stone.
