NASA movie trailer
As reported back in July, after years of joined musicians’ work on it, a project entitled NASA (which stands for North America – South America) is more closer than ever to seeing the light of the day. Curated by Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon, it’s a whole gallery of musicians from various places and known for playing various genres. Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), David Byrne (Talking Heads), RZA, George Clinton, Method Man, Cee-Lo, Tom Waits; to name a few. John’s among them as well, performing on the song titled Way Down with RZA and Barbie Hatch. Here’s two head people themselves said on the project…

RHCP have sued Showtime over “Californication”
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) — Grammy-winning band the Red Hot Chili Peppers today filed suit against Showtime Networks Inc. and the creator and executive producer of the Showtime series “Californication” for unfair competition involving misuse of the band’s intellectual property. The lawsuit says the band’s “Californication” title “is inherently distinctive, famous and has been the subject of substantial advertising and promotion, has been used and advertised throughout the United States and the world, is widely recognized… and immediately associated in the mind of the consumer and those in the trade” with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Use of the “Californication” name by Showtime and other defendants “constitutes…

Yet another John fan – Adrien Brody
The Oscar-winning actor, Adrien Brody, spoke about his life, experiences and style for UK newspaper Daily Mail. Naturally, as someone who played the headline role in The Pianist, he also loves music and his taste is indeed classy! For The Pianist, he didn’t have to fake his love of music. “I grew up in New York very influenced by hip-hop music but I have a pretty broad taste. I love jazz and reggae.” “Recently I’ve been listening to John Frusciante [from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers] who has some solo albums that I admire, and I have Public Enemy’s new album in my CD player right now.” If you’re interested…

Saw Something to be a single…
According to information on Dave Gahan’s website, the song John’s featured on will be the second single from the Hourglass album. I do not know what this means in terms of music videos and how (un)avoidable speculations might be, but either way, it is nice to know.

Site updates, 11th November 2007
Boring title does not have to neccessarily lead to a boring update, but it surely is more dramatic, as the chance to use the 600 000 visitors dramatic title is already passé. Either way, considering that it’s “just” the gallery, it might be boring to some people, but there was no time for anything else this week. Gallery updates It has been brought to my attention that some people claim this site has no gallery and that they can’t find stuff on it. My sole comment to that is WHAAAAAAAAT?. As much as I know that the last navigation link breaks in older versions of Internet Explorer, the navigation is…

Invisible Movement’s Facebook Page thing
Invisible Movement now has one of those Pages* on Facebook….err, pages as in profiles for things that aren’t people. Go on, be a fan of it! *It’s listed as “Product”, as there’s no category “Website” and I did not want to have it listed under non-profit or religions organisations, like owners of some other similar sites did.

A strange comparison indeed
Of course it has crossed some people’s minds that Britney Spears’ story has a wee bit in common with what John went through (just with glamour, family matters and way too many headlines added to that…), but it is a bit strange to mention John in an article about ms. Spears. However, yes, that happens sometimes… That’s not to say that she’s bored with fame or with trendy night clubs or with surrounding herself with bad influences. Or that she’s going to go the John Frusciante route and give up all her vices to focus exclusively on her art. Well, of course she won’t. It takes one in six billion…

More on Calibration
(danke schön an Melissa, once again!) Here’s some information on Omar Rodriguez Lopez’s new solo album that John will also contribute to, as provided by N20 records. The image is its cover. We just wanted to start getting the word out on Omar’s (Mars Volta) solo album “Calibration (is Pushing Luck and Key Too Far)” that was recorded in Amsterdam… it’s the first flagship rock/electronic fueled album from the ORL Group featuring an all star cast of players. You can click on the link above to see the cover art. It’s a truly artistic record and we are honored to be able to work with Omar and familia and be…
