• Site updates, 05th October 2007

…and I feel like annoucing that on the 7th anniversary of the beloved 05th October overtrow🙂 The software the website is running on has been upgraded…what does that mean? There have been complainments about the site running too slow. This should help, as the creators of WordPress said that the most recent version of their software has 800% bigger speed as one of its main features. I would appreciate users’ feedback on this. The URL to the gallery is no longer gallery.php or wp-gallery2.php. Both of those URLs will be redirected to /gal . The URLs to albums and individual photos, however, did not change. • September/October 2007 issue of Tape Op magazine

(thanks Maggie!) Tape Op independent magazine will have a John feature in their September/October issue, the scans of which are not on their website yet. I reckon the article would be very interesting to read, as it contains information on John’s next solo album where Flea and Josh Klinghoffer will also be featured; and Ryan Hewitt is being interviewed as well. Also, someone from the Tape Op community quotted that John is actually making a reference to a back issue of the magazine. Does anyone here have a subscription to that magazine? It’s an independent one and the subscriptions are free, but available to people who record music only.

  • Site updates, 23rd September 2007

Yes, it’s been a little while again. But there’s been a lot of stuff. Look below. Cosmetic changes you won’t care about…or maybe you will?! There’s a brand spanking header image that loads randomly. The old one is still there, too. For everyone who remembers how the site looked like between January and May 2006, that would be nothing new. Speaking of random, the list of random quotes from songs grew from S to XXL. And yes, I shall put them somewhere where they’ll be seen more easily. The navigation bars on subpages (they’re called breadcrumbs, btw) are now highlighted. • Under The Bridge has the 8th best intro riff…

…according to CTV 08. ‘Under the Bridge’ – Red Hot Chili Peppers To date, this is still the Chilli Peppers’ most successful song. The melancholic intro, which also conjures Hendrix, cannot but trigger thoughtful introspection. So perfectly does it set the tone for the ensuing lament, it is impossible to not start thinking about one’s own issues and dreams.
