  • A report of the NASCAR NEXTEL All Star…

From Auto Racing Daily: Before their electrifying performance during Saturday nights NEXTEL All Star event, the famed Red Hot Chili Peppers made a trip to the Roush Racing NEXTEL Cup shops in Concord, N.C. The four band members, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith, took a quick tour through the Roush shops with hosts Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards then it was outside to perform their first ever pit stop with the assistance of the No. 16 Ameriquest Busch team. “Those guys were pretty cool,” said Biffle, driver of the No. 16 National Guard Ford Fusion. “They seemed really interested in learning about the cars; we talked for…

  • Chart positions of Stadium Arcadium

I don’t have the time to search many lists. But, from what I know, the album is the first on the US, UK and German charts, as well as here where I live (this country is a subject to discuss since last night, so I don’t know where I live:roll:)…if you know any other country where it’s first (and I bet there’s many), yell at me and I shall edit this. Here’s what mtv.com said: Shame on those who’d written off rock as a dead genre. Rock, it seems, was just taking a little nap. But thanks to Godsmack, Tool, Pearl Jam and Taking Back Sunday, who’ve dominated the Billboard…

  • Footage from the KRQQ Weenie Roast

The KRQQ website has some here. You can download the same thing at i-m.net’s forums and I promise to extract a clip of John’s solo at the end, since the one from the TV Total show was very well-received.

  • On John’s newest collaboration with Mikah Sykes

Article taken from registerguard.com, written by Serena Markstrom. This is not a story about a Eugene kid moving to a major city and making it big. But now that Mikah Sykes is working with a famous guitar player down in Los Angeles, people pay more attention to his mu- sic. Sykes lived in Eugene and Springfield up until about a year and a half ago. He moved to Portland first, then to Southern California, where he decided the only way to afford to pursue music was to be homeless. For the past six months, he’s been staying with friends and sleeping in his tent. During that time he has worked…

  • More news on Perry Farrell’s new album where John is contributing…

NEW YORK (Billboard) – Former Jane’s Addiction/Porno For Pyros frontman Perry Farrell is finishing up work on the debut album from his new group, Satellite Party, which also features ex-Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Farrell is eyeing a late summer release for the self-titled effort, which boasts guest appearances from Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and guitarist John Frusciante (on the track “Hard Life), Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie, New Order bassist Peter Hook and Farrell’s wife, Etty. “It’s going to be a solid group with both female and male players,” he told Billboard.com, “and it’s going to be very live and very powerful. But we want to add a…

  • Site updates, 16th May 2006

Sorry for roughly one week without updates. 1)There was an issue on the server, my access to the control panel was blocked and i-m.net was therefore about to run out of space, so I couldn’t upload anything, not even post news. 2)At the same time, I had some sort of a flu. Don’t worry, nothing super-urgent happened; I believe you guys have got your hands on Stadium Arcadium in the meantime and worn it out, anyway. So, what’s new? – Fresh pics have been added to the gallery, from some posters in magazines and from the TRL performance last week. You can find them all in the gallery. – A…

  • An invite-only show, radio show and a real show…

RHCP had an invite-only show in LA, at the Troubadour (John played a solo show there in 2001, remember?) last night and people who got in are mostly band’s friends. If I have more info on it in future, you’ll surely hear about it… However, the show on Saturday, held by KROQ-FM (106.7) wasn’t invite only. It was the anual Weenie Roast y Fiesta concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, and here are some nice excerpts from the review seen on Calendar live: The Chili Peppers’ closing set reaffirmed the L.A. quartet’s status among rock’s elite. Songs from the new “Stadium Arcadium” double-CD package added maturity and musical…
