  • Five years of Invisible-Movement.net

Sometime this hour on 24th November 2004, Invisible Movement, back then probably critically anorexic compared to what it is now was opened to public. This is how it looked like. And it’s been five years since that day! Earlier this month, the site went over the mark of 2 000 000 visitors, which was not acknowledged due to two occasions in a single month. Five years on the worldwide web is like 50 years for a magazine or a newspaper – very long. It brings some sort of a tradition to the site – the way things are worded, the whole concept. In current circumstances, it also brings a number…

  • Random surprise once again – not just because!

So, last month there was a Random Sunday surprise just BECAUSE. This month, on the contrary, there’s a random surprise – not just because. And whatdoyaknow, it’s a 2001 solo show again, as John’s raw, acoustic solo performances are a beautiful thing to watch and listen. This one was held in Amsterdam, at Paradiso, on 08th February 2001. To view all thirty-one videos from this event, head over to the video archive and enjoy. Be happy, if nothing else, I’m sure all of you have someone who makes you smile often, even when they make you frown every now and then. Live, love and don’t let go. Please. ^_^ Want…

  • Pssst! Random Sunday surprise just BECAUSE!

Friday was an AWESOME day for me and some others in oh so many ways. I thought I’d give you all a whole 2001 show to celebrate it, so you could have some awesomeness in your lives, too. And it’s a Sunday, so sit down and watch. Some of you know this show, some of you don’t, some of you even live close to the venue, in a city that’s err…a bit invaded by people from Balkans, though it’s in a totally different place. So, it’s John’s solo show in Toronto on 13th February 2001, at the Horseshoe Tavern. Here’s one of the videos as a little preview. To view…

  • Introducing: a comprehensive JF video archive!

For the past couple of days, there have been hints to a new, new thing to be revealed on 01st June on this website; on its Twitter, Facebook and Myspace accounts. 33 people were given the link to test it and they provided very good and accurate feedback. And this is what it was: Click on the image or here to access it. This project has two goals: just like the rest of this website, to follow and archive the career of a musician impressive in many ways and, of course, to make you all happy. Go there, click away, watch the videos, comment, rate, be nice and come back…

  • Site updates – 21st April 2009

It’s been a couple of weeks since the last regular update. I’m sorry to you all, I was really busy with work and one of my closest family members suffered a strong heart stroke and…in a situation like this, it’s a miracle that the site was actually updated during the last three weeks. To everyone whom I still owe a response: patience, you’ll get it. On this particular occasion, I’m really glad to announce that the board has passed another milestone and that there are more than 3000 registered users now. And the Twitter account has more than 100 followers now. It’s nice to see that there are so many…

  • Invisible-Movement.net page on Facebook

For some odd reason, likely a site bug, Facebook deleted Invisible Movement page and there’s no way to restore it, nor they’re doing anything other than sending generic emails to people when things like this happen. So, Invisible Movement has a brand new Facebook page, which you can reach by clicking here. Please, become a fan of it (again). Also, for everyone who doesn’t know it, this website is on Myspace, Last.fm and Twitter, too; and my wonderful friend Mira has created an Invisible Movement fanlisting.

  • Kicking off the week with a special: new and improved Green Fest audio download – mp3 and FLAC

You all remember 2007, you all remember Green Fest and all 100 000 people who were there – unless someone had amnesia – want to remember it for good reasons: such a large amount of people jumping to Higher Ground, John’s unforgettable rendention of ABBA’s classic SOS; Flea’s impromptu song and much much more. My good friend Robert/hcrockso, who provides this website with enormous moral support, occasional Hungarian translations and media-related help has managed to improve the recording and now all the songs apart from those three omitted from the TV broadcast for band and band management’s undisclosed reasons, are available as a high-quality 192 Kbps mp3s for your iPod…

  • I-M.net’s featured musicians for March 2009 – Verna Beware and Sebastian Matar

It has been quite a while since Isabel José was crowned the very first featured musician here on Invisible Movement. Perhaps because there were too many things happening. After the embarrassing six months, it’s the time to introduce TWO features for March. Due to many people being interested, there will be two features a month in April and May as well. The first feature for March are Verna Beware. They’re a five-piece band from Santa Barbara with an unique sound and a very witty approach to their fast-growing fanbase. You can also check out their Myspace. The second feature for March is Sebastian Matar. Sebastian is a half Finnish/half Lebanese…

  • Site updates – 17th March 2009

Before we proceed onto this week’s update, I would like to thank the 13 kind people who donated money for the site and the board’s hosting accounts. The number is small because there was someone who donated almost half of the amount; but each single donation is appreciated equally. Thank you so much. This clears the site’s hosting until July 2010 and the board’s hosting until this time next year. And yes, this was meant to be posted two days ago. Sorry! Look out for a double musician feature later today or early tomorrow. Experi-mental feature in the tabs section Two sets of Polish magazine scans, from 2002 and 2006…

  • Site updates – 09th March 2009

Wow, at last: a “classic” update. Some of these things were meant to be parts of the last update in 2008, but they didn’t make it to it. Things got busy and the computer associated with this website graced the floor with a bunch of droppings three times in two months until it ended up retired. And January & Febuary were more dynamic than ever expected and that’s why a “classic” site update did not take place – though you probably noticed there were many updated along the way. So, here they are, bits and pieces of the first update in 2009. Enormously long, that is. There’s a lot to…
